Philly A to Z






For my Philadelphia A to Z assignment I gave 26 friends a different letter of the alphabet and asked for what they thought about Philadelphia in regards to their letter.

Mike "Dominant" Caroto chose Amoroso to represent the letter A.  This photograph was taken inside of Brookline Pizza in Havertown.

 


 


 Clare Callaghan chose Baseball to represent the letter B.  This photograph was taken outside of Citizen's Bank Park.


 


 


 Evan Silverburg choes Cheesesteak to represent the letter C.  This cheesesteak was made at Janos Italian Pizza Kitchen in Drexel Hill in case you can not read the menu.  Also, Evan is the brother of Dave who is responsible for the V entry in this little blog.  I could not get a portrait of Dave so just think of Evan except a little scruffier.


 


 


 Josh Gittleman chose Dogs to represent the letter D.  He recently acquired brother and sister puppies, their names are Winston and Maki and I guess he had dogs on the mind.  This photograph was taken inside his home at an undisclosed location in Philadelphia.


 


 


 B.J. Hensil chose the Eagles to represent the letter E.  This photograph was taken outside of Lincoln Financial Field.


 


 


 Sara Zampatella chose Fairmount Park to represent the letter F.  This photograph was taken on Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park.

 

 


 Johanna Cox chose the Good Dog Bar to represent the letter G.  This photograph was taken outside of the Good Dog Bar on 15h and Locust.


 


 


 Matt Strong chose Harry Kalas to represent the letter H.  This photograph was taken inside the home of Rea and Steve Dunlavy in Havertown.


 


 


 Levi Brautigan chose Independence to represent the letter I.  This photograph was taken outside the Independence Visitor Center in Independence Mall at 5th and Market St.


 


 



 Lisa Schaffer chose JFK Boulevard to represent the letter J.  This phorograph was taken at JFK Boulevard and 20th St.


 


 


 Matt Helm chose King Bash to represent the letter K.  What is King Bash?  It is where kids in my High School went to get nickel and dime bags of Marijuana (I plead the 5th).  King Bash was located at 51st and Lancaster, it did not seem to still be in operation, for no one solicited me while I was making this photograph.

 


 


 Maureen Donnelly chose Love Park to represent the letter L.  This photograph was taken at Love Park aka JFK plaza at 15th and Arch.

 


 


 Raphael Cutrofello chose the Mutter Museum to represent the letter M.  This photograph was taken outside the Mutter Museum located at 19 S. 22nd St.

 

 


 Rea Dunlavy chose Mayor Nutter to represent the letter N.  This photograph is of a photograph in Monday, February 15ths Daily News.

 


 


 Rebecca Callaghan chose Ortlieb's Jazz Haus to represent the letter O.  This photograph was taken outside of Ortliebs which is located at N. 3rd and Poplar Ave.

 


 



 Donny Pierce chose the Phillies to represent the letter P.  This photograph was taken from the parking lot of Citizen's Bank Park.


 


 


 Ryan McGlouglin chose Quaker to represent the letter Q.  This photographe was taken outside the oldest Friend's Meeting House in Philadelphia at 320 Arch St.



 


 



 Steve Dunlavy chose Rivers to represent the letter R.  This ishy photograph was taken outside of Boat House Row on the Schuykll

 

 




Andrew Leveque chose "Sity Hall" to represent the letter S, and yes we know that Sity Hall is spelled City Hall, thanks.  This photo was taken at City Hall.


 


 



 Brian McCaffrey chose "Tickets for parking" to represent the letter T and yes he is aware of how the wording of that sounds wierd, strange, what have you.  This ticket was found between Broad and 15th on Walnut St.

 

 



 Brian Shields chose Uppity to represent the letter U, this photograph was taken at the Academy House parking garage on 15th and Locust.  These people were not exactly uppity but I found it hard labeling someone that so I just chose them at random

 

 

Dave Silverburg (I could not get in touch with him to take his portrait) chose Vandalism for the letter V, this photograph was taken at the intersection of Germantown and Redner Ave.

 


Dean Gorfti (could not get in touch with him to take his portrait) chose Walt Whitman for the letter W, this photo was taken at 7th and Packer Ave.

Brian "Deuce" Berridge chose WXPN for the letter X, this photograph was taken outside of "World Cafe Live" at 3025 Walnut St.

 
 


 Brian "Trey" Berridge chose Yuengling for the letter Y, this Yuengling can was located at 1027 Allston Rd. in Havertown.

 

 




 Jamie McGloughlin of Kennett Square chose the Philadelphia Zoo for the letter Z, the Zoo is located at 34th and Girard.
